Election and Personnel Committee Meeting

Call to Order:
The Yuma County Airport Authority, Inc. (YCAA) Election and Personnel Committee Meeting of the Board of Directors was called to order at 1:00PM on September 1, 2021 in the Yuma International Airport Conference Room, 2191 E. 32nd Street, Suite 218, Yuma, Arizona 85365. The Presiding officer was Albert Gardner, Chairman.
YCAA ELECTION AND PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT WERE:

YCAA ELECTION AND PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEMBERS DIRECTORS ABSENT WERE:
None
ALSO PRESENT WERE:
Bill Craft, President
Gladys Brown, Airport Director
Gerald Hinkle, Jr., Chief Financial Officer
Andrea Lopez, Executive Assistant
REGUAR AGENDA
1) Discussion, possible recommendation, and update on advertisement and procedures for the vacancies on the YCAA Board of Directors.
Ms. Brown, Airport Director, described the Committee’s role in the election process, which is established in the Authority’s By-Laws. The members of the Committee discussed the timeline, application, the vetting process and the informational presentation available to interested parties. Ms. Brown explained this coming election there are three seats open for vacancy. Two seats are incumbent and one for a Director terming out. The YCAA Director who has completed his three terms is Director Brian Cullen. The two YCAA Directors who are up for re-election are President Bill Craft and Secretary Russ Jones, who have expressed their desire to be placed on the ballot for possible re-election.
There was correction in the executive summary discussed and has been corrected as follows:
This upcoming year (2022), the YCAA has three vacancies; Director Brian Cullen reached his terms which is a total of nine years. There are also two incumbents up for re-election, President Bill Craft and Secretary Russ Jones. President Bill Craft and Secretary Russ Jones expressed their desire to be placed on the ballot for consideration. If incumbents are successful in the election, there will be one seat to be filled by any new applicants.
Ms. Brown ensured the Committee the correction would be provided to the Board and within future briefings.
The Committee concluded that the advertising process and the advertisement met the needs of the YCAA.

There being no further business before the Board the meeting adjourned at 1:07PM.
